DIY Five Golden Rings Ornaments
On the fifth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me … five golden rings! Or in this case, five golden ring wreath ornaments! We had so much fun turning the fifth day of Christmas into a DIY craft, and are so excited to share the full tutorial with you below. If you’re like us, you probably already have little bits and bobs, scraps of trim, and loose findings saved in your craft stash – do a little deep dive and collect anything gold you can find. Admittedly, the holiday aisle at the craft store tempted us so we did buy a few more golden fixings for our rings. But, if you’re mainly using materials you already have, this project is definitely an inexpensive one to make.

Did you know that this year is PNC’s 35th year of calculating the cost of purchasing the gifts in the holiday classic “The 12 Days of Christmas”? They call it the PNC Christmas Price Index® and it’s so interesting to see the real life cost of everything from 12 drummers drumming to a partridge in a pear tree!
DIY Five Golden Rings Ornaments
This year, we teamed up with PNC to DIY the Christmas Price Index! Today is the fifth day of Christmas and we’re showing you how to make these five golden rings for an affordable $40! So keep reading for the full DIY instructions below! These ornaments are really fun to make – use our instructions as a guide, but get creative with the supplies you have on hand to create your own custom ornaments. Not only can you hang these on your tree this year, but you can string them together to form a festive garland, or even tie them onto wrapped presents as playful gift toppers! However you use them, they definitely make a great DIY gift for friends & family!

Step 1
Begin by covering your jar lid – this time we used gold pipe cleaners to do this. No need to glue them down, just wrap them around tightly and they’ll stay right in place.

Step 2
For the first golden ring, we then attached sticky-backed gold star stickers onto one side of the ring as shown. This ring is ready to go!

Step 3

For the second golden ring, we covered another lid with gold pipe cleaners just like in step 1. Then we hot glued some mini golden tinsel on the top edge for a tinsel-wreath look.

Step 4
And then we cut out some super mini trees out of gold trim and a glittery foam sheet. You can use small pieces of pipe cleaner for this too – just arrange and glue all the mini trees along the bottom edge of the ring and it’s complete.

Step 9
After covering it, we glued down pairs of sequin leaves and topped each with a mini jingle bell. We made three of these jingle bell holly, and then hot glued super mini bells around the rest of the wreath. This jingle bell-covered golden ring is finished too!

Step 10
And finally, for the fifth golden ring we applied a line of hot glue on about a quarter of the lid. Before the glue dries, press it into the golden star confetti. Repeat for the rest of the lid.
