Working Mummy Trying to Balance Life

Hi mummies,

I feel silly writing this as I only have one child who is 10 months old but I am struggling to find the time to balance work, being a mum, wife and someone who has some time for self care.

Especially with this whole corona pandemic going on I feel like what’s the point in getting dressed, which is definitely not helping on the self care front.

My daily routine is something like this:

Wake up – give baby milk… play with baby…give breakfast baby naps

whilst she naps: unload the dishwasher, make a coffee, breakfast give the living room and kitchen a quick tidy. by the time that’s done baby wakes up!

Play with baby…give baby milk…baby naps….

whilst baby naps: work

baby wakes…. play with baby give dinner and milk bed time.

evening time when baby is down for the night: have dinner, clean kitchen, continue work, go to bed.

Sorry for the boring run down but that’s typically my day, with the odd laundy wash in between there too. I just don’t have any time for myself? I see all these people on social media with bags of free time because they have to stay home but I stay home every single day but do not have 30 minutes to my self unless someone is here to help (which never is because my husband works all day)

Mummies of 2…3 or more children how do you manage your time, what’s your routine? I would love to know how I can improve for my own sanity.

Career after kids

Hey mummies!

I am 29 and will be 30 this year and have three children ( 2 boys and a girl) before kids I was a receptionist at a 5 star hotel and before that worked shifts in a nightclub whilst on and off travelling. These last 2 years I have really been wanting a career instead of just jobs to get me by with money, I want something I can proud of to say this is my job and I love it. Being a mummy for the last 7 years has made me realise I dont want to just be at home when my kids go back to school I want a job but im also thinking is it possible now with three children? I would love to be a paediatrician but I would have to go to uni and this would take 3 to 4 years. Just wondering if any other mummies have advice have you started a career after children and if so any advice would be brilliant! Thankss!

Mental Health

Feeling completely lost and broken at the moment and dont know who to turn to or what to do. I havent been feeling mentally well for the last 6 months now and it doesnt seem to be getting easier. I have two girls under 5 who I love and adore more than anything. I dont have much money and me and my partner havent been getting on very well for quite a while now. I mean were still ok but we just want different things in life and dont see eye to eye so much. I feel like he leaves me in all the hard times by myself  and im supposed to just be ok with that. I feel like I cant see my life getting any better. For the last 6 months I havent even been doing activities  with my kids or even sitting down and playing with them. I have sort of spoken to two of my friends about this but not in detail basically when I have called  them it has been in tears so I think they think it was just a bad day thats it but its not its been going on for months and Im really starting to struggle with it all now. What can I do is this a phrase will I just snap out of it one day?

I’ve let myself go since having kids

Since having kids I feel like i have really lost myself. I never wear makeup like i used to, never do my hair or care about what clothes I wear. The mum bun, lounge wear and black eye bags seem to be my go to style right now. I’ve gained around 10kg in weight too and my youngest is now 8 months old.

What can I do to get motivated again? I feel miserable about myself but I don’t know where to start as I feel like i just don’t have enough time to myself to do anything!

I would love to hear your tips, what you do to keep fit and healthy and feeling good about yourselves. Please help me find my motivation and confidence again!

Trying to conceive

A few years ago I had a miscarriage after years of trying and I went to the doctors and a sometime had ivf which was unsuccessful so I had another cycle which was successful but at 8 weeks I had a miscarriage. Iv been finding it hard to cope with since then my second miscarriage was a few months ago and everyone around me is having babies and it’s been a real struggle. I’m worried I won’t be able to be a mum. I’m always hoping and praying for a miracle but it’s just so hard to keep positive and believe. I have been having counselling but I don’t think this is helping.

SO DONE with having any more kids…

Hi mummies,

I have 4 children all very close in age, i had two under 2! and the others with a couple of years between them.

First baby was planned, second was too but happened a LOT quicker than we thought it would. It took me almost two years to concieve baby #1 so I thought we would start trying once my first child turned 8 months thinking it could take at least a year or so…well it happened on the first month LOL. Then we thought after a few years we’d give it one last try and have baby #3. Sorry baby #4 you wasn’t planned at all and it was really touch and go whether we could go through with this pregnancy.

The reason we went through pregnancy #4 was because i was quite far along when I realised I was pregnant, 4 months! I’ve always had irregular periods and I had no symptoms at all, not even a little bump, NOTHING. So yeah, we we’re kinda left with no other option in my mind really.

Anyway, now that my backstory has been explained by endless waffle, I’m gonna get straight into the point of this post…

So my husband and I are totally done with having anymore kids, it’s just not physically, mentally or financially possible. We both agree enough is enough and can’t wait for us to get our lives back a little so we can feel like ourselves a bit more.

Great, so we’re on the same page… ALMOST… so how do we stop this from happening again? The Pill just is too much of a faff for me and with 4 kids to run around after, taking a pill the same time EVERYDAY just isn’t practical. The coil/iud just doesn’t react with me very well, my body has expelled both the hormone mirena and copper coil, with the latter giving me extremely painful periods.

Injections, and the implant are a no go, too many hormones and make me so miserable, plus i suffer with severe acne on these kind of things…

So, I thought after doing all the hard work growing and birthing these 4 kids, why not have my husband have the snip?

Well…he’s having absolute NONE OF IT. As soon as I even say the word he stops me in my tracks with a firm NO. It’s not even a big deal, it’s actually reversible for men too.

Ladies, has your husbands or partners had the snip?
