Hip hip hooray! Today we had so much fun bending and shaping pipe cleaners into these playful garlands! Fun for parties or any old day, these are super quick to make and can be customized in any way you like!
We made a combination of bigger banners and smaller ones, using only felt, pipe cleaners, string, and glue! Once you get going you won’t be able to stop making these colorful decorations. What will you spell out on yours? Let us know in the comments and keep reading to see all the instructions below.
what you need:
- Kid Made Modern Arts and Crafts Library (felt, pipe cleaners, scissors, white glue, & string)
- Hot glue gun
how-to:
Step 1
Bend the pipe cleaners into the letters to spell out your message. For some letters, you can easily twist the pipe cleaners around each other to hold them in place, or for other letters like H, R, Y, etc, you can leave the letters as separate piece for now.
Step 2
For the mini garland, do the same but make them small enough to fit onto squares of felt, cut from the colors included in the Arts & Crafts Library.
Step 3
Use the hot glue gun to assemble the larger letters together if needed.
Step 4
For the smaller letters, use white glue to attach them onto the felt squares. Let dry.
Step 5
To make the garland, use white glue to attach each piece of felt onto the string, letting dry completely. Do the same for the larger garland, but use the glue to glue the pipe cleaners directly onto the string instead.
