Last Minute No Carve Pumpkins

These pumpkins wear their sunglasses at night – that’s how the song goes, right? If you’re looking for some super speedy pumpkins that come together in almost no time at all, this post is for you! Pie pumpkins are the perfect size that you don’t even need to glue or pin the sunglasses in place, they just stay put if you wedge them on. If your pumpkins are a little too big for your sunglasses to fit, you can always poke or drill a couple holes for the arms to go into.

Gather up sunglasses that you already have or check out the dollar or party store for some affordable options. If you’re not in a big rush, you could even carve these pumpkins out like you normally would and cut eye and mouth holes. That way, the light will shine out through the sunglasses and made these guys even cuter for both day and night! Keep reading for the super easy tutorial below.

• Folk Art Outdoor Gloss Acrylic Paint
• Paintbrush
• Sunglasses

how-to:

Step 1
If you have a few extra minutes and want some extra colorful pumpkins, give them a quick wash in warm soapy water and dry completely. Then grab a brush and apply a good coat of paint. Depending on your color, you may need to add an extra coat to cover completely. Let dry.

Step 2
Wedge the sunglasses onto the pumpkins! Ours stayed securely in place, but if yours slip around a little bit, try using a pin or glue to secure them in place.

You could even get creative and paint some patterns onto the pumpkins too! Polka dots, stripes, flowers, zig zags … you name it! And while you’re at it, kids would love painting on expressions and facial features to go with the sunglasses.
